Late last year: we made an announcement: that we were in the process of trying to establish an active addiction recovery center on Grand Manan; to help those suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction.
We formed a board of directors; and are legally known as “Island Addiction Services “. We have also achieved “Charitable Status” and are currently in the process of obtaining a non-profit tax number.
Then came “COVID “. After much consideration; we have changed our basic plan; to one of helping individuals and families seek and obtain access to available services and programs in Atlantic Canada.
There are different ways we can be part of assisting recovering families and we are open to discover where we can open doors that may have appeared to be closed. Recovery sometimes seems almost unattainable where doors are closed!
Also; at this time; we are actively seeking additional board members. If you have a heart for community service and/or recovering persons; we would love to have you on board.
